Storm Chaser Roofers
Hey everyone, I hope that you all are doing well. Last week I received an email from a current client, Mr. Fritz, who asked for a specific topic about storm chasing roofers.
Now, what are storm chasing roofers? They are, as they sound, roofers that whenever a severe storm occurs, they swarm that specific area. They will drop by your house and say how a neighbor in your area had them look on their roof, and they had damage, and you most likely do as well. They will get up on your roof, and 99% of the time, they will come down and say you have damage and need to turn in a claim. However, often you will not have enough roof damage to justify a claim. The roofer wants you to sign a contract with them to fix your roof and put a downpayment for the job. We always advise our clients to get an estimate from a roofer you trust before turning in a wind/hail claim. Remember that the roofers looking to bid the jobs are salesmen with polished talking points to close the deal.
Now not all roofers will try and scam you out of money. We insure many great roofers that we know, trust, and refer our clients to.
Please, in the future, if a severe storm is in your area and a roofer shows up at your home wanting to look at your roof, say no thank you. However, if you believe you have damage to your home, don't hesitate to get in touch with us, and we can put you in touch with a roofer you can trust.
As always, if there are any topics you would like covered, go ahead and shoot me an email or comment below. Thank you all for watching, and have a great day.
